If you consider fruit desserts sad and boring, then think twice. Fruits work great when you tuck them in your desserts. Be it a cake, pie, or frozen desserts, adding a punch of seasonal fruits can do wonders. Fruits are juicy, crunchy, and natural sweeteners – all of these work in harmony to make your dessert sweet, a bit tangy and satiating. Fruit desserts are healthy and tasty – and is a great way to include the daily portion of fruit in your meal. Here are two of our all-time favorite fruit dessert recipes.

1. Chocolate-dipped Frozen Banana Bites

If you feel brain-freeze with dessert ideas, this one recipe is for you. With the goodness of bananas and the richness of chocolate, frozen banana bites are loved by most of the popsicle lovers. Do give it a try. 

Ingredients 

  • Chocolate chips – 1 cup
  • Mesmara extra virgin olive oil – 1 tablespoon
  • Ripe bananas – 2 (peeled and cut into circular thick slices)
  • Toppings to coat the banana – you can take toppings of your choice like crushed almonds, sprinkles, chopped salted peanuts, shredded coconut, etc.

Method

Put the banana slices in the freezer for 1 hour. Take a heavy-bottomed pan. Add oil and chocolate chips. Keep stirring it until the chocolate chips melt and blend well with the oil. Switch off the heat and let it cool for 10 – 15 minutes. Meanwhile, take different toppings in different bowls. Now dip the banana slices in the chocolate and coat it well from all sides. Take it out and dip it in the topping of your choice. Once the topping is well coated, take it out and arrange on a baking foil. Repeat the above steps for all the banana slices. Now put the baking foil in the freezer for around 3 – 4 hours or until set firmly. Take it out from the freezer and serve! 

2. Orange-fool Napoleons

With winter upon us and orange season in, you can’t miss trying this orange dessert, especially if you’re an orange lover. And the best thing is, you use all the parts of the orange in this cool orange-fool dessert. Let’s get started!

Ingredients

  • Oranges – 4, medium-sized
  • Honey – 2 tablespoons
  • Raw pistachios – 1 cup, shredded
  • Greek yogurt – 1 cup
  • Orange-flower water – 1 teaspoon
  • Orange zest – 1 teaspoon, grated

Method

Peel the orange from top to bottom. Cut the orange in three rounds, put it in a bowl and freeze it. From the remaining orange, squeeze out the juice and reserve for later use. Mix the zest, honey, and the remaining orange juice. Boil it in medium flame until the mixture thickens and you can see brown bubbles at the bottom. Switch off the heat. Take a pan and dry roast the pistachios. Let them cool and then chop. Take a mixing bowl and whisk the yogurt until a smooth and creamy consistency is formed. Mix in the orange flower water. Now arrange the orange rounds in layers. In between add a dollop of yogurt and drizzle the orange juice mix. Repeat for all the layers. Finish it up by sprinkling the pistachios on top. Serve and enjoy this fruity delight!
