Hairstyles for holidays
Any festival celebration in India brings with it a lot of pomp and show. Be it decorating the house or wearing the best dresses, festivals have their own charm. For the ladies of the house, a Navratri celebration also includes being in your best hairdo. Think of celebrating with a different hairdo for each of the nine days of Navratri. Won’t that look wonderful! Here, we bring to you three hairstyles for the Navratri holidays. These easy-to-do hairstyles for holidays won’t let you down at any point.
Style #1: Easy-to-do braided bun
This style is so easy it takes just a couple of minutes to finish your look. Part a section of the hair from the forehead to the back and keep it to the left side. Take a section of hair on the right side in the front and make a 3-strand braid. Add a portion of the hair at the forehead to the braid after braiding twice. Repeat this process until you reach the neck. Continue braiding and secure with a rubber band. Take this braid behind the head and secure it into a ponytail along with the rest of your hair. Twist a small portion of hair over the ponytail to cover the rubber band. Twist the hair into a bun and secure with bobby pins.
This hairstyle won’t let you down during a Durga puja dance. It goes well with ethnic dresses and traditional sarees.
Style #2: Easy-to-do Half down style
Pre-treat your hair with a heat protectant, leave-in conditioner. Loosely curl your hair with a hair curler.
Take the front portion of the hair and backcomb it in sections to add volume. Comb the hair in the front to the back and twist it a couple of times. Secure with bobby pins by pushing them inwards. Now take a section on the right side and backcomb it. Take it flat towards the back. Twist it a couple of times and pin it over the previously secured hair. Do the same on the left side. Repeat the process on both sides until the entire front hair is secured to the back. Pull the twists so that it adds volume. Leave the rest of the hair down.
This hairstyle shows volume on the top and length at the bottom. It suits well for mid-length hair.
Style #3: Easy-to-do Fishtail braid with updo
Don’t let this little difficult hairstyle deter you from trying it out. Believe us, it is going to be really wonderful.
Part your hair naturally. Take out two small portions on the front side and hang them out loosely in the front. Secure the entire hair into a ponytail on the right side. To make a fishtail braid, make two sections of the hair. Tease out small portions of your hair on each side into the braid with your thumb. Secure the end of the fishtail with a rubber band. Twist this braid on top of your head and secure with bobby pins. Now backcomb the front portions to add volume. Twist it on top of the braid to slightly cover the pins and the rubber band. Secure any flyaways with some leave-in conditioner.
This style works great to show off your earrings, back, and neckline.
