Recipes with Sesame Oil and Soy Sauce

Recipe #1 – Instant Noodles – Just 4 Ingredients

Ingredients

Noodles – 2 cups

Sunflower oil – 1 tablespoon

Mesmara cold–pressed sesame oil – ½ teaspoon

Soy sauce – 1 ½ teaspoon

Method

Take water in a heavy bottomed pan. Add a few drops of oil and bring it to boil. Once the water starts rolling, add the noodles and cook for a minute or until it is half done. Don’t overcook. Strain the water and let the noodles dry. 

Take a pan and add oil. Throw the noodles and toss it for a minute. Add soy sauce and toss for another one minute. Turn off the gas and drizzle the sesame oil on top. Serve piping hot.

Tip: Soy sauce contains salt. So, taste the noodles and if needed, add a pinch of salt.

 

Recipe #2 – Veg Noodles

Ingredients

Finely chopped carrot – ½ cup

Finely chopped bush beans – ½ cup

Green peas – ½ cup

Finely chopped cabbage – ½ cup

Soy sauce – 1 ½ teaspoon

Mesmara cold-pressed sesame oil – ½ teaspoon

Boiled noodles – 2 cups

Minced garlic – 1 teaspoon

Mesmara extra – virgin olive oil – 2 tablespoons

Method

Boil the noodles as mentioned in the previous recipe. Strain the water in a colander and let it dry. Meanwhile, chop the vegetables and keep everything ready. 

Heat oil in a pan and stir fry the garlic until burnt. Toss the veggies and cook until done. Add the noodles and stir fry for another one minute before adding the soy sauce. Turn off heat and drizzle toasted sesame oil for fresh flavor and aroma.

Tip: Too much of sesame oil can add a strong flavor. Add not more than a ½ teaspoon.

 

Recipe #3 – Assorted Veggies Stir Fry

This flavorful dish of assorted veggies is a must to have if you are arranging a get-to-gather for friends at home. This dish goes well as a starter especially if you have too many meaty dishes. 

Ingredients

Cauliflower (chopped into small cubes) – 1 cup

Bush beans (thinly sliced, about one inch long) – 1 cup 

Carrot (thinly sliced, about one inch long) – 1 cup

Potato (small cubes) – 1 cup

Bell pepper (small cubes) – 1 cup

Garlic (finely chopped) – 1 tablespoon

Mesamara cold-pressed sesame oil – ½ teaspoon

Soy sauce – 2 tablespoons

Cornflower – 2 tablespoons

Tomato ketchup – 2 tablespoons

Sugar – 1 teaspoon

Oil for frying

Salt and pepper to taste

Method

Blanch all the vegetables and strain the water. Pat dry with a kitchen towel to remove excess moisture. Mix the vegetables with the cornflower, salt, and pepper. 

Take a thick bottomed pan and heat the oil. Deep fry the veggies until golden brown. Keep it aside. In a frying pan, take a spoon of oil and stir fry the garlic until you get the aroma. Mix soy sauce and tomato ketchup in a little bit of water. Add sugar and mix well. Now pour the mix in the pan and let it simmer. Add the fried veggies and give a quick mix for a minute. Add salt and pepper. Turn off heat and drizzle toasted sesame oil. Serve hot.

Tip: Garnish it with freshly chopped spring onion. You may add finely chopped chilies if you want to give it a spicy stir. 

 

Recipe #4 – Fish Delight

Ingredients

Basa fillet (cut into cubes) – 2 cups

Lemon juice – ¾ cup

Ginger puree – 1 tablespoon

Garlic puree – 1 tablespoon

Green chilies puree – 1 tablespoon

Minced garlic – 2 tablespoons

Diced bell pepper – 1 cup

Diced onion – 1 cup

Soy sauce – 1 tablespoon

Mesmara cold-pressed sesame oil – ½ teaspoon

Salt to taste

Method

Marinate the fish with ginger, garlic and green chilies puree, salt and lemon juice. Keep it for 3-4 hours in the refrigerator. 

Take a pan, heat oil and stir fry the marinated fish. Keep it aside. Stir fry minced garlic, onion and bell pepper. Add fish and soy sauce. Give a quick stir. Add sesame oil, mix well and serve.

Tip: Overnight margination of the fish adds more flavor
