Best applied directly and even better when it is virgin coconut oil and is cold pressed. Cold pressed oils ensure that the free radicals are not released. Before you plan to apply, ensure the area is washed well and air-dried. Before the surface becomes completely dry, take a few drops of the oil and gently massage it. 

Coconut oil tends to solidify during the winter as it gets cold. The best way is to dip the container in lukewarm water to liquefy it. Do not heat it on high heat as the free radicals then get destroyed. For best results and high absorption, do this before going to bed. 

#2 Castor and Cocoa Mix

A mix of castor oil and cocoa is like a top-up to the already fantastic coconut oil. It brings along the power of antioxidants which help reactivate cell growth. It also reduces any irritation and soothes the skin. So, next time for deep conditioning of your skin, make this magical concoction. Take equal amounts of coconut and castor oil and whisk them into a blend. 

Ensure you have cleansed your skin and then take a few drops and gently massage it in. The longer the application stays undisturbed, the better it is. Therefore, it is highly recommended to be used before sleeping whether it is the lazy siesta at noon or night. The beauty nap enhances the effects and leaves your skin supple and youthful.

#3 Apple Cider Vinegar with Coconut Oil

Apple Cider Vinegar works as a cleansing agent and an astringent. The acidity removes the extra oiliness, balances the skin’s pH and it tones the skin. You cannot use it directly and so it needs to be diluted with equal parts of water. Apply using a soft gauge or cotton balls and dab it on the skin to lightly moisten it. After this dries off, take a few drops of coconut oil and generously massage it in.

#4 Cocoa, Cucumber and Aloe Vera Face Pack

This is a deep nourishing face pack that you will love. This brings together cucumber’s soothing properties and Aloe vera’s healing properties. The two help improve skin texture and skin health by strengthening the skin tissues and increasing skin elasticity. 

Take a small peeled cucumber and prepare a smooth paste. Add a tablespoon of Aloe gel and a few drops of coconut oil and mix well. 

Wash your face to remove any dirt and extra oiliness. Apply this paste and let it stay for 15-20 mins before washing off with some cold water.

Before you massage coconut oil, add the contents of the Vitamin E capsule into it. For enhanced relaxation, add a couple of drops of lemongrass essential oil. Mix them well and then apply them to your skin. Massage gently in a circular motion for at least 15 mins before wiping off the excess oil. Follow with a light rinse with normal temperature water. 

Leave it overnight for the best results.

#6 Turmeric Infused Coconut Oil

Raw turmeric is another ingredient used for its anti-inflammatory properties and cleansing benefits. It contains a lot of antioxidants that are very good for the skin. The turmeric is also used to even out the skin tone and add glow to the skin. Most importantly it increases collagen production which helps in skin looking better and firmer. Prepare about a teaspoon of raw turmeric paste and add it to a couple of tablespoons of coconut oil and mix well. The consistency is not going to be smooth and uniform, so do not fret. Apply this as evenly as possible and leave it on for about 20 mins before washing it off.

The use with coconut oil just marries their benefits with the moisturising and antioxidating properties of coconut oil and speeds up the process.
