Monsoon season brings its own set of challenges especially when it comes to skin care. Not only is it wet most of the time, the body also needs to adapt to heat along with high humidity. As the oiliness of skin increases along with the ambient moisture and pollution, the skin takes quite a beating. If you are tempted to wash your face much more frequently, consequently the skin is constantly dry to catch up with bouts of oiliness and dryness. Everyone must be extra careful about their skincare routines during the monsoon season.
We take a look at a few face packs that will help prepare your skin with the constant change during this season.
#1 Rosy Oats Face Pack
Apart from being a superfood, Oats are very friendly to the skin too. They are particularly helpful in absorbing excessive oil, removing dead skin cells and are generally good at reducing skin irritation. Oats improve the skin texture very quickly and leave it with a rejuvenated feel.
- 3 teaspoons of oatmeal
- 1 tablespoon rose water
- 1 teaspoon of honey
- 1 teaspoon of curd
In a bowl, whisk them together to get a nice creamy paste.
Wash your face with a good cleansing solution or simply with a face wash or soap. Evenly spread out the paste all over your face and let it settle down. After about 20-30 mins, you can wash this off. Always prepare fresh and use this every alternate week.
#2 Yogurt mask
Yogurt is effective in pore management, especially during the monsoons. The ambient humidity causes a lot of sweat discharge and this in turn opens up the pores. With pollution all around us, the open pores do nothing good in stopping it from entering the underlying layers of the skin. Yogurt helps deep cleanse the skin and it additionally tightens the pores.
- 1 tablespoon of yogurt
- 1 teaspoon of Aloe Vera gel/Mesmara Aloe Vera powder
- Few drops of Mesmara neem oil.
Mix the ingredients well and allow the mixture to rest.
Apply the mixture to your face and leave it for a while (around 15-20 mins). This allows the skin to soak it. Cleanse your face with fresh water.
